To Share or Not to Share???

Monday, February 20, 2012

Aaaaaahhhh! Bed sharing. One of the most controversial topics out there. To do or not to do? Well I am proud to say I DID! Frankly, I can understand where all these experts, doctors and specialists are coming from considering they need to do prevention. Better be safe than sorry, right? But when you stand in a parents shoes, it's a whole different ball game. And in all honesty, you kind of have to be smart about it if you will go ahead and bed share. Any conscious parent will make sure there is no pillows, blankets or objects around the baby when they bed share. It's just common sense to me! And I thought it was just me, but then, when I read the part about the fact that a mother may instinctively awaken if her baby's breathing changes, I knew my motherly instincts were dead on. I know this subject sparks a lot of debates and controversy and whatnot, but I think it is an interesting and insightful article that one must read.

Here today, Gone tomorrow

Sunday, February 19, 2012
I don't know how I am feeling or how I should be feeling. An old colleague, roughly the same age as I, beginning 30's, passed away last night. Leaving behind his pregnant wife and 3 year old son, brokenhearted. Their whole world has just been shattered in thousands of pieces. Pieces that will probably never come back together perfectly. Or at all for that

Sunday Morning

Nothing spells Sunday morning like a colorful and flavorful homemade omelette... It warms the tummy and soul. Usually, I throw in whatever vegetables and fresh spices I have left in the fridge. And to obtain that nice soft and fluffy texture, I mix the eggs significantly and add a very very small amount of either milk, cream or water. Some say adding butter instead of liquids will do the trick. I have yet to try it. I will keep you posted though. In the meantime, happy Sunday! :)

Follow your HEART

Saturday, February 18, 2012
Silence. All I hear is silence. Or did my ears become best friends with this now somewhat familiar white noise called a baby monitor? I wonder. I must confess, in the beginning I thought I had suddenly grown bionic ears. I could hear it all! I barely could sleep anymore! I might as well have camped out in my baby's bedroom. But not anymore. Now I am a pro! A veteran! I can sleep through any noise coming from that oh-so-neatly-thought-of gadget. I call it a gadget because let's admit it, the generation before us didn't have them and it all worked out pretty darn fine. So perhaps it is a gadget. Who am I to say?!

The beauty of LIFE

Friday, February 17, 2012
He blows me kisses, he claps his hands just like mommy. He loves mommy's lullabies, he bursts into laughter when I sing him a LMFAO song. He plays wrestle with daddy, he plays "licky" with the doggy. He is amazed by mommy's earrings, he is the most curious human being. He brightens my days in ways I couldn't even begin to explain. When I pause the world around me and gaze at him, my eyes fill with the utmost admiration, my heart drowns in the deepest of loves. He can be a handful, he can be noisy. But at the end of the day, he is my son and nothing compares to him. He has taught me to overcome my fears, learn as I grow, enjoy the moment, and most of all, love to the fullest.

My blog is entitled S.O.S. Mom for the sole reason that I want to be helpful to all moms and dads who, like me, have gone through all the rainbow of emotions and questions throughout this journey called motherhood and fatherhood. Motherhood has awaken many things inside my heart, mind and soul and I want to share it all with everyone of you!

My blog is your blog...
